A 39-year-old Missouri mother of triplets who was last seen on June 1 is reportedly still missing. Her husband, who has been named as a "person of interest" in the woman's case told investigators he last saw her at his home in Jackson, Missouri.
According to her husband, she left after the two had been arguing after a divorce hearing earlier that day. She had reportedly driven to his home to pick up her 5-year old son Maddox. The child, however, wasn't there when she arrived, and she disappeared after her time there.
Police found the woman's car on June 2 on a Missouri highway, but her purse, keys and cell phone were missing.
Authorities suspect that the scene may have been set up to look like abduction. Family members of the missing woman believe her husband lured her to his home in order to kill her. Her father recently made comments about "blood evidence" inside the man's home, though authorities didn't confirm anything in that regard. Her husband denies any involvement in her disappearance, and says that police are conducting a witch hunt in targeting him for investigation.
Family members are hoping that the case will break this week, but so far searches have yielded nothing. Police and volunteers have reportedly been conducting searches in the woods and fields in Cape Girardeau County, and expect to conduct more this week. Jackson Police say the searches haven't yet produced any clues into the case.
Sources didn't indicate what motive the husband may have had to murder his wife. The two were, however, reportedly going through a contentious divorce.
